Don't Judge a Book by its CoverLesson 1: In this book, Scout and Jem learn that it is wrong to judge a person without knowing who they really are. You have to get to know them and see that they may not be what you think they are. You have to understand and consider how they look at things.
"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." page 30 |
It is a Sin to Kill a MockingbirdLesson 2: It is wrong to harm the innocent-A lot of people learned this throughout the book. They wanted Tom to be killed, even though they knew he didn't do anything wrong. Just because you may not like someone or they have a different skin color than you dosen't mean that you can be mean to them if they didnt do anyhting to you.
"Shoot all the blue jays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember, it's a sin to kill a mockingbird." page 90 |
